Solid Douglas wood flooring from Dinesen was used in a coastal house. Situated in Denmark, the House by The Sea is the result of a renovated functionalist-style bungalow. The western facade consists of large picture windows that draw the light into even the most remote corners of the house, and make it possible to enjoy the sea view from all the rooms.
Renovation
The renovation was closely monitored by the owners Rie and Finn, to ensure there were no compromises. Walls were torn down to create fewer but large and open rooms. The style is simple and sparse, ensuring the sea view is the center of attention.
Douglas Floor
Wide full-length Dinesen Douglas planks add a warm feel and underscore the architectural lines of the home. The planks were also used for the outdoor patios in the same width. A choice that visually draws the scenery into the house and blends the indoor and outdoor spaces into one.
