Introducing Drift, a new multi-residential development in Coolum, Queensland by Mosaic Construction that embodies the epitome of coastal living. Designed by OGE Group and inspired by its beachside location, Drift is a modern architectural masterpiece that captures the essence of luxury resort-style hotels.
Design Challenge
Located just 20 meters from the ocean, the 56 north-facing apartments offer breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, which presented a design challenge for Mosaic. To achieve the desired opulent aesthetic while also withstanding Australia's harsh conditions, DECO products were carefully selected for the project.
DECO Solution
The final result showcases a combination of DecoBatten, DecoClad, and DecoSlat aluminum products, all finished in DecoWood's Qualicoat Class 2 marine-grade powder coating in "Weathered Timber". The DecoBatten 100x50 battens on the exterior of the building create a striking visual feature, while DecoClad V-Groove cladding covers the upper story. On the ground level, a mix of 50x50 and 100x100 DecoBatten was installed vertically to provide privacy and airflow for residents. The resort-style pool cabanas in the gardens were constructed from DecoSlat 65x16 aluminum slats.
The end result is a set of luxury apartments and penthouses fit for any resort lover, with contemporary and tranquil design features that effortlessly complement its coastal environment and ocean views. The DecoWood "Weathered Timber" finish adds to the sophisticated beauty of the development.
