More about this product

Tom Dixon's floor lights offer a contemporary range of sculpturally minimalistic lamps. Families include the Beat, Mirrorball, Melt, and Globe collections. It also includes the ethereal Opal light and the Jack lamp - one of Tom Dixon's first designs using plastic that is now kept in the Victoria and Albert Museum in Lond and the Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco.

Beat

The uniquely crafted lighting is inspired by a re-purposed water vessel found in India and made by artisan craftsmen within the region to develop and maintain the skills of street metalworkers. Using the existing techniques for traditional brass work used to create cooking pots and water vessels, existing objects were hand-raised, welded, beaten, and skimmed into functional forms that reflect the golden light.

Globe

A minimalist collection focusing on the spherical form, the spherical orb is highly reflective in the day. It reveals an assortment of internal reflections from the integral LED when switched on. Globe is available in copper and chrome finishes as a pendant, floor light, and chandelier.

Mirrorball

Created through the process of blow molding and vacuum metallization, the mirror balls are blown into perfect spherical forms, with a highly reflective surface that mirrors its environment.

Melt

A collection that focuses on an organic and imperfect form to create a more naturalistic styled light. The form evokes the concepts of molten glass, the interior of a melting glacier, or images of deep space. The lighting fixtures are created through a process called blow molding and vacuum metalization to create highly reflective organic shapes. Melt is available as a pendant, chandelier, surface, floor, and table light.
