Porcelain Stoneware in Penthouse, Cape Town | Fiandre

Porcelain stoneware from Fiandre was used in "The President Penthouse" renovation Cape Town. Inspired by the captivating views of the Atlantic coastal line, KMA-Ben Kotlowitz Architects and Niche Interiors-Judith Hendry conceptualized a space that created a strong connection between the interior and exterior. The clients wanted their existing penthouse to be opened up for more free-flowing space. White was a predominant color of choice creating a modern and minimalist atmosphere of lightness and serenity.

Porcelain Stoneware Application

Fiandre's Calacatta Statuartio marble porcelain surface from the Marmi Maximum collection was selected to achieve the designed effect for the floor of the entire space. The choice of this marble-like finish allows for beautiful reflections of light and water. The grey veins within the marble add character to the finish.

Large formats of a size of 300x150 cm were selected. This creates a widening effect within the space and enhances the continuity of the design. A matt finish was selected for the surface to reduce glare from the reflection of sunlight. The benefits of the ceramic material include anti-slip properties, easy cleaning, low maintenance, and easy installation.

The ceramic surfaces were provided by Fiandre's South African partner, Studio Masson. Studio Masson also offered expert guidance for the correct ceramic surface selection specific to the project, ensuring the best results are achieved.
