The Occo Lounge Chair from Wilkhahn is part of the Occo table and chair range. Created by designers, Markus Jehs and Jürgen Laub, the range is designed for the table and chairs to beautifully coordinate with one another, combining versatility and customization.
Concept and Form
The Occo range gets its name from the characteristic shape of the seat and backrest. View from the from, the chair resembles an "O" shape, while when viewed from the side, its profile resembles a "C" shape. The shape of recesses in the back and sides have been designed both for comfort and practicality. The chairs can easily be stacked (when paired with the four-legged metal frame base). The seat itself is very rigid, but the back offers flexibility for comfort due to its shape and the different thicknesses of the material.
Versatility and Customization
Wilkhahn offers eight Occo lounge models with a low seating height. These come with a choice of two backrest heights and upholstery types and can be paired with a solid wood base frame, or are swivel-mounted on an aluminum star-base. The customization options add up to a total of 72 possibilities when choosing the chair to perfectly suit the desired requirements.
You can select between four frame types for the base of the chair:
- Four-legged chair in metal
- Four-legged chair in solid wood
- A four-star base on glides
- Afive-star base on castors
For the chair's shell, Wilkhahn offers a choice between three types of cushioning and six shell colours:
Matching Table Range
The chairs can be used as standalone chairs or placed in groups and are well suited for lobbies, lounges or by the fireplace. They can also be paired with the matching tables. The Occo range is suitable for spaces with the intention of having attractive, customized design concepts, where variety is desired while still wanting a consistent and clear design language.
