More about this product

On a hill in Kösching, Upper Bavaria, a new representative office building for Interpark Management GmbH has been built. The building, described as a temple of wood and glass was built exactly on the walls of an underground water reservoir.

It took only nine months for abhd architekten denzinger und partner mbB to expose the service water reservoir. This remained in operation during the construction phase, as it supplies the surrounding industrial park. The entire structure as well as its load-bearing components were dimensioned and designed according to the conditions of the structural walls of the reservoir.

The building is open on all sides and positioned to reveal a 360° panorama of the Danube floodplains, the foothills of the Altmühl valley and the entire industrial park managed from here. The reduced design of the interior has been oriented to the panoramic view: The goal was the material fusion of the load-bearing wooden construction elements with built-in furniture to form space-creating units. These are connected with glass elements to create enclosed spaces, but without breaking the panoramic view.Cantilevering two meters all around, the roof provides adequate protection against the strong sunlight from the large glass surfaces. It is sloped upwards so that it does not fall into the field of vision from the inside.

Solarlux large-format, floor-to-ceiling Cero elements were used to elevate the design cocept. With a face width of only 34 millimeters, the filigree aluminum profiles enable maximum permeability. The concealed frames blend seamlessly into the floor, walls and ceilings, creating a smooth transition between inside and outside.

The location required special conditions when it came to building insulation. These were addressed by using a highly thermally insulated system with triple-glazed glass. Cero is tested and certified according to the best security standards. The sliding windows offer burglary protection up to RC3.
