Custom Furniture in Milbank Headquarters | UniFor

The new headquarters of the prestigious international law firm Milbank is located in the 55 Hudson Yards skyscraper in Manhattan. In a significant project, ten floors of the building were transformed and remodeled to fit Milbank's needs. The interiors are clean, refined, and functional with materials such as mirrors and steel that reflect views of Manhattan's skyline and distribute natural light. Thus, the interiors are furnished with UniFor's standard and customized pieces.

Design Concept

One of the main goals was to create personalized spaces for Milbank's staff. To achieve this, LSM implemented various unique design features and customized furniture. The private offices of the partners and associates are furnished based on individual needs and equipped with UniFor's height-adjustable desks, wall-mounted cupboards, and ample work surfaces. In the communal areas, large meeting tables, reception desks, and all of the cupboards have been specified and custom-made by UniFor to meet LSM’s requirements.

To ensure appropriate acoustics, UniFor's RP wall partitions were used to subdivide interior spaces and create comfortable workspaces. The partitions are made in double-glazed and single-glazed versions and cover a total of 3,300 m². The striking interior metal finishes which cover the walls and columns are also provided by UniFor.

Overall, the project furnishings create an effective and comfortable work environment that promotes staff well-being, collaboration, and a sense of connection. Given the refined design, Milbank LLP was named a finalist for “Coolest Amenities” by Crain’s New York Business, as well as for Project of the Year at the 2019 Corenet Corporate Real Estate Awards for Excellence. The entire 55 Hudson Yards building also earned the landmark LEED Gold certification.
