The Koloro collection from Nelisson are facade bricks (non-perforated) that have five sand-covered sides and one side with possible oblong groove. The structure looks rugged with fine and irregular grooves in the sandy surface. The baking process takes place in a gas-heated tunnel oven under a slightly reduced atmosphere.
On the hand-moulded brick, a light grey to white top layer/coating is applied based on a cement mixture. The color scheme is nuanced. The color may change in humid conditions, and after drying out the cement coating will get its true color.
The Koloro collection is available in six variations:
Blanco - The subsurface is yellowish.
Argento - The subsurface of the brick is light grey - beige.
Crema - The brick has a yellowish base. This hand-moulded facing brick is made from loess, which is extracted among others from the Kesselt plateau in the Maas valley (Belgium) and then enhanced with raw materials from the Volcanic Eifel.
Tesoro - The brick has a yellowish and dark grey base. This hand-moulded facing brick is made from loess, which is extracted among others from the Kesselt plateau in the Maas valley (Belgium) and then enhanced with raw materials from the Volcanic Eifel.
Metallic - The subsurface of the brick is dark metallic.
Shadow - The brick colour is distinctly anthracite to coal-black as a result of a homogenous mixture of the precise proportions of manganese oxide with grey-red baking clay.
