The Baekelsystem brick collection from Nelissen feature facade bricks (non-perforated) that have five sand covered sides and one side with a possible oblong groove. The structure looks rugged with fine and irregular grooves on the sandy surface. The baking process takes place in a gas-heated tunnel oven under a slightly reduced atmosphere.
The Baekelsystem brick is available in 5 varieties:
Belle Epoque de Marche Baekel - The brick has an orange base, and the hues vary from orange to burgundy colour in combination with marlcoloured shades. The typical old aspect is the result of the wet and unbaked bricks’ treatment with various admixtures.
Old-Haspengouw Baekel - The brick has a reddish base. The typical old aspect is the result of the wet and unbaked bricks’ treatment with various admixtures. The types of sand used are responsible for a rather dark red palette with white and black sediments against a red shaded base.
Vega Baekel - The brick has a reddish base. The typical old aspect is the result of the wet and unbaked bricks’ treatment with various admixtures. The types of sand used are responsible for a rather dark red palette with white and black sediments against a red shaded base.
