The Lighthouse Spa and Hotel in Büsum is located next to a 100-year-old lighthouse and between a harbor and dyke promenade. The building - designed by Architekturwerkstatt Ladehoff - houses 111 rooms and suites, a wellness area, and three restaurants. The design of the hotel complex references the traditional architecture of the near-by harbor houses.
This hotel presents an unassuming character that is well suited to its locale by presenting a fine-grain design approach. Each of the three restaurants and all 19 suites was developed with different collaborators and is characterized by its own interior design style. This design approach resulted in a need for high-quality windows that could present a dymanic appearance, additionally, the water-front location affords guests vast ocean views but is also extremely exposed to the wind and the elements.
To achieve the high structural requirements, the entire complex was equipped with windows made from VEKA SOFTLINE 82 profiles. Additional steel reinforcements and more strikers and locking points than usual were included in the profiles. The window system can thus withstand an additional structural load of 50%.
The surface finishing VEKA SPECTRAL is used in the Lighthouse Hotel & Spa. It allows the option of reflecting the interior design principle to the windows in color - individually for each individual room. The high-quality feel and the easy-care, extremely matt texture of the surface are perfect to support the traditional maritime coziness of the house. The right fittings were selected in close cooperation between VEKA, the fittings manufacturer ROTO and the window manufacturer HARDER.

VEKA SOFTLINE 82
Stable and comfortable with a timeless look: VEKA SOFTLINE 82 window profiles with their 6-chamber center seal system and Uw thermal insulation values of up to 0.67 W / (m2K) ensure maximum room comfort. The particularly deep glass inset with a glass rebate height of 28 mm for an optimal isothermal curve prevents, among other things, the formation of undesirable condensation on the inside. Their large, perfectly fitted steel reinforcements make a significant contribution to structural safety, load transfer, and dimensional stability. The long-term functional reliability resulting from this is an economic factor that should not be neglected, especially in hotels.
All plastic profiles used are finished with VEKA SPECTRAL surfaces. The unique matt surface gives the window profiles a pleasant feel that fits perfectly with the overall building concept. At the same time, it is characterized by good resistance to environmental influences and is easy to clean. Both are important for a hotel, especially as it is located in the stimulating climate of the Frisian North Sea. VEKA SPECTRAL is available in a total of 9 color tones, which helped achieve the color concept of the Lighthouse Hotel & Spa.
