Viroc is a Cement Bonded Particle Board from Investwood that can be used both inside and out. Viroc panels have a heterogeneous appearance displaying randomly dispersed shades that result from the natural raw materials used.
Ventilated Façades
Viroc panels can be applied outdoors, namely in ventilated façades. They are an ideal solution for outdoor linings thanks to their thermal insulation benefits.
Considerations
- The minimum thickness of the panel for application in facades is 12mm
- Protection of the panels through a coating of paint or varnish is recommended.
Partition Wall
Viroc panels are suitable for constructing dividing walls and as a wall lining inside and out. When used outdoors, the same rules apply as for Viroc ventilated facades. The appearance of Viroc panels makes them an excellent solution for walls as does their mechanical resistance, acoustic insulation, fire-repelling properties and durability.
The solution is often used for divisions in hotel rooms or cinemas, where acoustic insulation to airborne sound and fire-retardance are crucial. The particle board panels are useful in indoor damp areas thanks to their resistance to dampness, such as swimming pool complexes, changing rooms and bathrooms.
Thickness for Walls
The minimum thickness of the Viroc panels used in indoor walls in dry zones is 10mm and 12mm when applied in damp indoor or outdoor zones. In damp zones, Investwood recommends a coating of paint or varnish is.
Kitchens
Viroc panels are a waterproof material by nature and a fire retardant. They are ideal for refurbishments, and replacing or renewing materials in the kitchen where the particle board has a variety of possible applications:
- Worktops
- Walls
- Furniture
- Floors
- Ceilings
Since kitchens are damp zones with an accumulation of fatty substances, the Viroc panels must be varnished.
Bathrooms
In bathrooms, Viroc panels are a versatile material, and since it is waterproof and can even become an elegant option for use as a shower base. The particle board should be varnished for use in wet zones and can be used for several bathroom applications:

It is ideal for refurbishments, and replacing or renewing materials in the bathroom.
