The aviarys at Bois de la Bâtie, Geneva is styled around a treescape with a kidney shaped roof seeming to hover over it. The two aviarys have a structure that combines steel supports and a protruding concrete plateto connect a filigree installation. The steel construction reflects the physiognomy of trees and is surrounded by a very fine Webnet construction by Jakob Rope Systems.
The project came about as a preventive measures against H5N1 virus, it allows breeding birds to be quarantined during migration periods. A sinuous path for visitors leads up to the enclosure. Jakob's Webnet creates an almost invisible stainless steel wire mesh that is stretched to the roof slab.
