The former gas plant, once responsible for the lighting of Moscow, a monument of industrial architecture, a business center: all this is Arma. At the beginning of the 21st century, this place became one of the main creative centers of the capital, and now it is a developed network of offices, restaurants and shops with Corten steel furniture installations made by Punto Design.
The architectural features of the former gas-holders make this complex unique and one of the most beautiful objects in the capital. The territory has become an art center in which creative people concentrate. Today you can find dozens of offices, showrooms, studios, editors and ateliers.
The authorship of the Arma transformation project belongs to AM Sergey Kiselev and Partners, the architects are Igor Shvartsman, Vladimir Labutin, Alexey Medvedev. Various exhibitions, parties and conceptual shows are held on the territory of the former plant. Today, Arma is not just an art center, but also a whole phenomenon that forms the cultural standards of Moscow.
This project uses Punto Design products made of Corten steel. Its peculiarity is in a special oxide film applied using alloying elements (copper, chromium, nickel and phosphorus). Thus, the metal is protected from aggressive external conditions. The material is used in shipbuilding and civil engineering as structural and decorative. It is easy to distinguish Corten steel by its memorable red-brown color - it is in this style that retaining walls and a number of benches are made, where metal is combined with wood.
