Trueform Concrete is an agile, build-on-demand company that is inherently flexible in terms of production. Their in-house CAD specialists are experienced in concrete fabrication and will design with production in mind - meaning that architects and designers can expect advice and consultation during complex projects involving seaming, installation, reinforcement, and overall feasibility.

All concrete pieces are cast to specification and subjected to rigorous quality control measures prior to their release. Finished pieces for local projects (tri-state area) are installed by Trueform’s expert team, while pieces landing beyond this radius are shipped both nationally and internationally.

What is a custom concrete?

“Custom” refers to any concrete object Trueform fabricates in accordance with specifications provided by a client. Nearly any attribute of concrete surfaces can be defined or manipulated, and may include:

  • Form / Shape
  • Scale / Dimensions
  • Color
  • Finish & Textures
  • Specialty Techniques (debossing, inlaying, embedding, etc.)

To achieve unique concrete forms, textures, and finishes, Trueform can employ a number of technologies including CNC-routing, fabric-forming, 3D printing as well as material manipulation and hand-sculpting techniques.

Custom Concrete Coloring

One of the primary advantages concrete offers over other materials is its ability to accept and display color. Because each piece is handmade, concrete fabricators have considerable control over pigmentation. Trueform’s concrete has “through” color, meaning the pigment is added to liquid concrete prior to casting and is therefore inherent in the finished product. Trueform has extensive coloring capabilities and can color-match nearly any Benjamin-Moore or Pantone color swatch.

Trueform utilizes a high-quality proprietary concrete mix to yield durable, aesthetically-striking products. Artisanal and hand-crafted concrete presents a natural concrete finish with slight gradations that elicit a feeling of depth and solidity that few other surfaces can achieve. Their GFRC mix cures to a compression strength of >6000 psi, making their products durable yet lightweight. A sealant is applied to fortify the concrete against the stress of daily use.

Care & Maintenance

All of Trueform’s concrete objects are treated with an industrial-strength sealant. However, certain precautions must be taken to protect the aesthetics of concrete furniture for years to come. Avoid using cleaners that contain abrasives, bleach, ammonia, or those which are highly acidic in nature. For more info, please refer to the “Care and Use” document in the Supplemental File Section.
