More about this product

This comfortable and ultralight easy chair was designed for Sancal by José Manuel Ferrero, of EstudiHac based on the emblematic Spanish instruments: the castanet. Like the two halves of the clam-shaped wooden castanet clap together, the Casta armchair’s cushions flap onto fabric that has been tensed over a metal structure.

The light structure of the Casta is a radical departure from traditional thick, padded armchair solutions. Using a selection of Sancal's carefully curated fabric choices there is no need for elastic webbing.

Material

The cushions are integrated into the cover for comfort. since the structure, in part, is provided by the fabric, this product is only available in Omega by Gabriel. The metal structure comes in a black matte, textured finish and is finished off with warm, smooth ash wood armrests which give contrast and are a nod to the castanet’s wooden touch.
