The new headquarters of the a renewable energy company UniEléctrica, is the result of an extensive restoration that has turned an old building from the 1940s into one of Córdoba's few smart, energy-efficient buildings. The new building has a clean, modern, elegant appearance and has been refurbished to enhance its energy performance and house four offices that were previously scattered around the city.
ULMA's ventilated facades help to create sustainable architecture as they significantly improve the thermal behaviour of buildings which provides significant savings in energy consumption. The architect, Fernando Cantarero designed the building for a 100 year lifespan which amplifies the need to reduce energy consumption and cut the CO2 emissions generated over that period of time. From an aesthetic perspective the earth and water textures from ULMA have been chosen to transform the look of this building. The textured surface of the facade panels have been layed to face four different directions, creating an optical effect that changes the appearance of the facade as the sun moves throughout the day.
