The building needed to meet strict institutional standards for aged care homes and the architects achieved that whilst simultaneously creating a project that stands out as a striking piece of architecture that reflects the facility’s mission to provide a safe, secure, happy environment and ensure the quality of life for those in their care.
In a departure from traditional sterile care home design, Clarke Hopkins Clarke Architects used James Hardie ExoTec™ cladding system with versatile express panels to give a light and lively feel to the building façades. The adaptability of the durable ExoTec material gave the opportunity to control the placement of panels to create unique patterns and break up facades, presenting a warm face to the vibrant community.
James Hardie® fiber cement products are resistant to fire and suitable for use in applications where non-combustible materials are required for applications such as aged care.
