The new Vincent Fire station designed by Oldfield Knott Architects has an eye-catching fire-red exterior with a fire-resistant façade cladding system from James Hardie.

The $19 million structure was built to provide emergency services to Perth’s flourishing population. The street-facing façade has beautiful lines and simple shapes making it a dramatic feature. This unique finish was achieved by utilizing Bisschops Panel cladding with James Hardie ExoTec™ façade panel and fixing the system as its substrate.
The build commenced in January of 2017; The turnaround had to be done quickly because the fire station is an integral part of the Perth community. Several key requirements for the exterior façade cladding material needed to be met:
- Capacity to withstand exposure to elements in a public space
- Ease of installation
- Ease of maintenance
- High-quality appearance
