Van Nuys Airport (VNY) is the world's busiest general aviation airport. Dedicated to noncommercial air travel, VNY averages close to 400,000 takeoffs and landings annually. The FlyAway Bus Terminal provides nonstop bus service between the San Fernando Valley and LAX, and was an important step in helping to alleviate freeway and LAX parking congestion.

At the FlyAway Bus Terminal, an extension designed by DMJM Architects added additional parking, more convenient passenger drop-off, an enlarged and modernized terminal building, and new landscaping.
Curtain walls at the bus terminal parking garage use GKD’s Lago metal fabric to hide the interior while allowing pedestrians to engage with their surroundings. Super graphic-sized letterforms fixed to the woven metal fabric appearing as though they are suspended in flight with a dynamic shadow effect.
