More about this product

Meeting Point is not only a place where anonymous passengers converge; it is also a furniture piece created by Luca Nichetto for Sancal as part of a four-product tribute to the Turati station in Milan; each piece has an individual identity while still sharing a common inspiration and design language. An arrangement of different Meeting Points creates an elegant set in private residences, lobbies, breakout areas or other corporate spaces.

Design

Meeting Point is a pouf system with integrated tables. The dominant shape is a circle, representing the station’s hole-like windows that open onto galleries and platforms. Upholstered seats with a diameter of 60 or 90 centimeters are accompanied by round wooden or metal tables of different sizes and finishes. The thin steel legs create an illusion of levitation as if the seats and tables are suspended in mid-air.

Finish Options

Legs Steel coated in textured black epoxy
Metal tables Textured black or gold
Wooden tables Ash finished in any color from Sancal's chart
Seats Upholstered in various fabrics, vinyl, and leathers

Designer: Nichetto Studio

Luca Nichetto started his career in 1999 working for acclaimed brands like Foscarini, in 2006 he founded his own multidisciplinary design studio in Venice. In 2011, Nichetto opened a second studio in Stockholm, Sweden. His personal take on furniture design is influenced by both cultures; Scandinavian and Italian, being joined by a deep knowledge of craftsmanship and industrial processes. Sancal asked him to take inspiration from the Turati metro station in Milan to create a complete set of products.
