Lapitec® was selected to add a bright touch to a 150 square meters 3-story villa in Calabria, Italy. The sintered stone has been used to clad the surface of the living area, including thresholds and stairs. The architects chose two different thicknesses: 12 mm for the flooring, 20 mm for stairs and thresholds.
The floor was clad using 90x90 Lapitec® squares, placed in a herringbone pattern. The staircase is proof of the workability of sintered stone: the steps are rounded and the first two feature Doric-looking rises with rectangular Lapitec® blocks. The Lux finish was chosen for the natural way it reflects the light, giving the space a bright and airy radiance. Furthermore, the warmth of the delicate Avorio shade adds a special touch of elegance.
Although the aesthetic of the material was an essential element in this interior design project, what persuaded the client the most was also the technical specification of the material. Lapitec® is resistant to heat, chemicals, and scratches, as well as extremely easy to clean since it doesn't require special treatments or polishing to maintain its sheen.
