Acoustic Panel System in Nordea HQ | Kvadrat Acoustics

A tribute to great Nordic landscapes, Nordea Bank Headquarters appears to be a giant sustainable ice block on a charcoal base designed by Henning Larsen Architects. Kvadrat Acoustic Broadline panels are used to deliver optimal acoustic conditions for the high-priority meeting rooms on the 6th floor. They met the architect’s need for high-quality, sustainably designed acoustic panels that could be seamlessly installed in rooms with extra-high ceilings.

Nordea is a prominent Scandinavian bank. The company’s Copenhagen headquarters is based on the vision of a transparent building that meets the city in a welcoming, open gesture. The headquarters has a crystalline façade that allows daylight to flow through the building, creating transparency between employees, clients and the local neighborhood.

It exemplifies the concept of large indoor atriums. Characterized by visual contact and uninterrupted views. For instance, employees can enjoy views of picturesque Amager throughout the day while passers-by can see into meeting rooms.

Materials

Inspired by Nordic design traditions, the materials selected for Nordea Bank Headquarters come from nature. Slate, Oak, and other trees from Nordic forests all play a role at the offices and adorn the indoor atrium space. Soft Cells are acoustic panels from Kvadrat Acoustics. Made with recycled aluminum and with a textile finish the acoustic panels are tensioned to withstand humidity and temperature conditions.
