Residential Artwork

The copper and stainless steel of the S-16 and SZ-4 architectural wire mesh coordinate in color and texture for this residential art piece. Each wire mesh panel is cut and formed to overlap with each other to create a seamless fit. Hidden wood blocks are used to mount the panels.

Harley Davidson Museum Shop Sign

The wire mesh sign at the gift shop for the Harley Davidson Museum in Milwaukee, WI, has a gritty feel that reflects the motorcycle manufacturer's no compromise, no nonsense attitude.

Designed by James Biber and Michael Bierut, the sign uses multiple layers of a dozen different types of Banker Wire crimp woven wire mesh to create a visually appealing texture as it also creates the words “The Shop.” The wire mesh sign changes visually depending on the shopper's angle and distance.

Re-stack

Banker Wire was chosen to help create a contemporary 20-foot wire mesh sculpture for a plaza in the heart of Seattle's South Lake Union neighborhood. The wire mesh sculpture, titled Re-Stack, was designed by Seattle-based Lead Pencil Studio and was formed entirely using Banker Wire architectural woven wire mesh.

Lead Pencil Studio creatively executed the piece by forming rectangular woven wire mesh boxes, haphazardly stacked to create beautiful sculptures. Banker Wire mesh provides the strength and durability required by the ambitious outdoor installation and the vast array of aesthetic options needed to realize the designer’s creative approach. Nine different Banker Wire mesh patterns were used to introduce an urban street edge to the setback plaza where the sculpture sits.

Large, high-definition lock crimp patterns with a traditional square mesh design offset the small, intricate details of the smaller lock crimps. With a highly defined "bump" at its intersections, Banker Wire's lock crimp mesh has a clean, crisp appearance, matching the sculpture's futuristic aesthetic. The variety of opening sizes creates different levels of opacity, light filtration, and shadows for a truly unique work of art.

Redi Interior Sign

The backlit lobby wire mesh sign at Regional Economic Development, Inc. (REDI) office in Columbia, MO, is defined by layers of Banker Wire F-2 flat-top stainless steel wire mesh on aluminum standoffs. Viewed head-on, the printed letters are aligned, as the viewer moves, the sign takes on depth, coming alive from the moiré effect and the moving shadows of the stacked letters.

Hard Rock Cafe

The Hard Rock Café relocated and the move prompted the restaurant to present a more contemporary look in its new space. To that end, a new exterior sign, made with Banker Wire mesh, combines a modern look with the restaurant’s familiar logo.

The Banker Wire S-15 architectural woven wire mesh has a flat wire mesh pattern inspired by the many who have asked for a "basket weave." Weaving with flat wire as opposed to round wire changes the visual characteristics of the wire mesh. A lower percent open area is easier and in most cases easier to obtain. The broad surface area of the flat wire can capture the warmth of the surrounding room lights and colors. For this project, the S-15 pattern’s wide flat wires, crimped in continuous waves, reflects the Hard Rock Café’s neon sign's light.
