More about this product

Tarkett Sports' Lumaflex is a substructure of sturdy birch plywood and shock absorbing foam that raises the profile of a resilient sports floor to create a combination system. Increased height delivers additional comfort and safety, and retains the practical benefits of a resilient sports surface.

Layers

  1. Resilient Point-Elastic Surface
Lumaflex can be used with a variety of Tarkett Sportsgym flooring options, including Omnisports, EcoPure 3.2 mm, and PolyTurf Plus Pad and Pour.
  2. Uniform Structural Support
18 mm plywood planks provide stability and a uniform structure for resilient sports surfaces. They are made exclusively from birch, one of the most stable species of wood.
  3. Reliable Bonding and Assembly
Each plywood plank incorporates an interlocking tongue-and-groove edge that is glued using Tarkett’s specifically designed application nozzle. This allows fast and reliable installation.
  4. Lumaflex Shock-Absorbing Foam
This shock-absorbing cushion is available in either a 1/2” or 1-1/2” thickness depending on the profile needs of the project. In addition to providing high levels of shock absorption, it is also GREENGUARD certified as a low-emitting interior building material.

Combination substructure

As a combination system, Lumaflex combines point-elastic surface properties with an area-elastic substructure. The system simultaneously responds in the immediate area of impact and across the wider surface area; this combined response generates remarkably high levels of shock absorption and natural stability underfoot.

A multipurpose floor with extreme sports performance

Your hybrid floor is more than a high performance surface, it is also a multipurpose floor with unlimited possibilities and benefits. There’s no need for a floor cover because a Lumaflex system, combined with versatility of an Omnisports, EcoPure, or PolyTurf Plus surface, are extremely durable.

The versatility of Lumaflex extends beyond just sports. It can accommodate tables, chairs or portable stages for events like conferences and assemblies. This makes Lumaflex the perfect gym floor for non-sports applications, such as graduation ceremonies, dances, banquets, trade shows, and much more.

With the ability to hold events, the multipurpose advantage of Lumaflex will help create a long-term investment which will lead to long-term gains.

Lower life cycle costs with Lumaflex

The factory engineered 15 or 18-ply Birchwood subfloor is 75% more stable than hard maple. With the Lumaflex system’s vapor barrier, the system is resistant up to 12 lbs of moisture. The combination minimizes the expansion and contradictions of the wood sub floor.

Savings start with the delivery of the floor. There’s no need to acclimatize the flooring before installation. Once installed, the hybrid system is not affected by temperature or humidity fluctuations.

This eliminates the need to run expensive air conditioning to maintain a constant temperature or to purchase a costly, specially designed and controlled heating/cooling/humidity system.

As a result, the Lumaflex system has a life cycle cost significantly lower than standard hardwood floors
