Copper Surface - Classic Coated | TECU®

TECU® Classic coat offers a simple robust cladding that allows the natural effects of weather, light and nature to transform it into a lively material. Available in various thicknesses, it has been made with a transparent 2-layer coating system that allows the bright red hues of raw copper to last longer while gradually changing over time.

Weathering

TECU® Classic retains a bright red copper colouring for a period of time, gradually and unpredictably changing into a new material. First, the surface turns matt, then gradually develops an oxide green layer to protect it against the effects of weathering. This process brings with it striking colour variations through an entire range of brown and brown-violet tones, offering varying nuances according to to change of light and season.

Ultimately, on the sloping surfaces, the colour process yields a robust green patina – as is typical for copper surfaces. This patina lends the cladding its distinctive character, at the same time providing long-lasting protection for decades to come.
