The NEW NAUTILUS EVO by GEOPLAST is a modular formwork made of recycled polypropylene (PP) designed to lighten reinforced concrete slabs poured on-site. It is equipped with an innovative central cone – born from Geoplast’s building experience – that perfects the traditional formwork, and structurally has no impact.
The choice of making the cone is due to the difficulty of obtaining a homogeneous bottom slab which guarantees the perfect casting. The formwork with the cone ensures:
- Actual visual check of the lower slab finishing.
- Guarantee of the completeness of the structural section.
- High load-bearing resistance.
- Lifting reduction during the pour.
- Homogeneous and perfect intrados finishing.

Slabs for Commercial Buildings
When lifting a commercial building, the main thought of a designer is the creation of large spans with a better finishing for a prefabricated structure. The creation of lightened bidirectional slabs allows to obtain a completely cast on-site building with a coffered or flat intrados and large spans. NEW NAUTILUS by Geoplast allows the obtainment of a flat intrados with spans up to 15-16 m.
Slabs for Residential Buildings
The use of bidirectional slabs bring many advantages in residential buildings such as the possibility to obtain large spans, avoiding the insertion of an excessive amount of load-bearing elements, in order to get a better space management and the possibility to easily modify them in the case of building usage changes. NEW NAUTILUS allows the optimization of this spans in order to improve and manage internal compartment spaces.

It allows the reduction of the slab’s weight and the seismic mass that may be stressed during an earthquake by granting all the user's safeguard and the fully availabilty of key rooms. A lightened slab created with NEW NAUTILUS by Geoplast can reach the level of fire resistance as hospitals and schools are required to strictly respect by REI regulations. Furthermore, the plate slabs bidirectionality allows the improvement of the columns placing creating large zones without walls and columns, therefore simplified management spaces.
