The first manufacturer of Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) products in the United States, SmartLam produces more than 1 million board feet of CLT each month. The company, headquartered in Montana, sources wood for its manufacturing processes from regional forest vendors within 200 miles of SmartLam’s zero-waste production plant.
SmartLam’s wide range of products and services allow the company to offer unmatched support to a diverse array of markets – from building construction to oil and gas, forestry, agricultural and maritime industries, and more.
Cross Laminated Timber is an engineered wood building system made from several layers of solid lumber boards, tacked crosswise to each other and bonded together with a non-VOC and formaldehyde free adhesive. The product’s dimensional stability, strength and rigidity make CLT a viable alternative to concrete, masonry and steel in many applications.
