FIBRAN is a Greek manufacturer of insulation and building materials, founded in Thessaloniki in 1974 and active in the European insulation industry since 1995. The company presents FIBRANskin, a family of membranes for the management of moisture in buildings, covering waterproofing, vapour control, and vapour diffusion within a single system. The range addresses the complete building envelope, from pitched roofs and ventilated facades to interior wet areas, and is complemented by dedicated bonding tapes for continuous, sealed assemblies.
Vapour-Permeable Waterproofing Membranes
Installed above the thermal insulation on the cold side of the assembly, these membranes act as a secondary waterproofing layer while allowing water vapour to diffuse outward, keeping the insulation dry. FIBRANskin VENT is the standard breathable membrane for pitched roofs and ventilated facades, manufactured according to EN 13859-1:2010 and EN 13859-2, offering high mechanical strength and dimensional stability. FIBRANskin VENT UV adds high resistance to ultraviolet radiation for assemblies with greater exposure, while FIBRANskin VENT SILVER incorporates a reflective metallised surface that contributes to the thermal resistance of the construction. For projects with fire safety requirements, FIBRANskin FIRE SHIELD combines vapour permeability with a reaction to fire classification of B-s1,d0.
Vapour Control Layers and Barriers
Positioned below the thermal insulation on the warm side, these membranes regulate the amount of water vapour entering the assembly from interior spaces. FIBRANskin SMART is an adaptive vapour management membrane that adjusts its diffusion behaviour to the ambient conditions. FIBRANskin BARRIER 23 is a synthetic vapour management and control membrane for roofs and walls in spaces with medium to high humidity, significantly slowing vapour diffusion (Sd = 29 m). FIBRANskin BARRIER 2400 performs as a full vapour barrier for spaces with intense humidity loads.
Waterproofing and Uncoupling Membranes
Produced according to EN 13859-2, FIBRANskin AQUASTOP is a waterproofing and uncoupling membrane applied indoors beneath ceramic tiles, as well as for the waterproofing of balconies, flat roofs, bathrooms, and pools, on surfaces of up to 50 m². FIBRANskin AQUASHIELD extends this performance with root resistance for planted and exposed applications.
Complementary Layers
FIBRANskin SEAL is a vapour-permeable, waterproof membrane used as a water flow reducing layer on inverted roofs, applied between FIBRANxps thermal insulation and the finishing layer (such as gravel ballast) in place of a conventional geotextile filter. FIBRANfilter SF 32 is a polypropylene geotextile characterized by high drainage capacity, chemical resistance, and strong mechanical properties.
Installation
Membrane joints are bonded with the FIBRANtape range: single-sided FIBRANtape ACRYL, double-sided FIBRANtape 2 SEAL, and double-sided FIBRANtape BUTYL for demanding substrates, ensuring airtight and watertight continuity across the assembly.
