FIBRAN is a Greek manufacturer of insulation materials founded in Thessaloniki in 1974, producing thermal, acoustic, and fire-protection solutions for markets across Europe and beyond. Among its product families, FIBRAN offers FIBRANeps, an expanded polystyrene thermal insulation designed as a lightweight, versatile option for building envelopes and industrial uses.
FIBRANeps is a lightweight thermal insulation material produced from thermoplastic polystyrene granules and 98% air. During expansion, the granules grow into small spheres that bond to one another, forming a homogeneous material. FIBRANeps is manufactured in large blocks, which are then cut into boards of the required dimensions. Beyond building applications, expanded polystyrene is also used to produce patterns and molds for casting complex shapes, as well as filling and packaging material.
Product Range
The FIBRANeps range is organized into two lines. The graphite-enhanced line, produced from NEOPOR, comprises FIBRANeps GRAFIT 80, FIBRANeps GRAFIT 100, and FIBRANeps GRAFIT 150, in which the graphite content improves the thermal performance of the boards. The white expanded polystyrene line comprises FIBRANeps TERMOPOR 80, FIBRANeps TERMOPOR 100, and FIBRANeps TERMOPOR 150. In both lines, the numerical designation corresponds to the compressive strength class of the board – EPS 80, EPS 100, and EPS 150, with compressive strength values of CS(10/Y) = 80, 100, and 150 kPa respectively – allowing specifiers to match the grade to the mechanical demands of each application.
Dimensions and Formats
FIBRANeps boards are supplied in a standard format of 1000 x 495 mm for GRAFIT boards and 1000 x 500 mm for TERMOPOR boards, in thicknesses typically ranging from 20 to 160 mm. Upon request and under certain conditions, boards of different types and dimensions can be produced, including any thickness from 10 mm upward.

Handling and Storage
FIBRANeps boards are resistant to cold but not to prolonged exposure to ultraviolet radiation. For this reason, the packaging should be removed shortly before the material is installed, and if the packaging is torn, the boards should be protected from direct sunlight. When stored outdoors, boards exposed directly to the sun or covered with dark-colored packaging material can deform due to the resulting high temperatures. Loading, unloading, and handling of the bundles should be carried out with care to avoid damaging the packaging and the edges of the boards.
