FIBRAN is a manufacturer of thermal and acoustic insulation products for building and industrial applications. FIBRANxps is a range of extruded polystyrene (XPS) insulation boards designed for thermal insulation in building envelopes and areas exposed to moisture and mechanical loads. The product series combines a closed-cell structure with low thermal conductivity, low water absorption, and compressive strength options suited to different construction requirements.
FIBRANxps boards are available in different configurations according to their intended application. Smooth-surfaced boards are designed for applications where resistance to moisture and soil contact is required, while rough, grooved, or specially treated surfaces can facilitate adhesion to mortars and subsequent finishing layers. Different edge profiles are also available to support continuous insulation and reduce thermal bridging within building assemblies.
Applications
The FIBRANxps range can be used in residential, commercial, institutional, industrial, and infrastructure projects. Typical applications include foundations, basement walls, floors, façades, roofs, terraces, inverted and green roofs, and areas exposed to persistent humidity.
The boards can also be incorporated into specialized assemblies such as swimming pools, cold-storage facilities, and infrastructure works including roads, bridges, railways, and airport areas. Depending on the product configuration, FIBRANxps can be installed where insulation is subject to significant compressive loads or requires direct contact with soil and moisture.
Product Range
The FIBRANxps series includes several board configurations developed for different performance and installation requirements. FIBRANxps 300, 400, and 500 provide progressively higher compressive-strength options for applications exposed to mechanical loads. Other variants are configured according to surface treatment and application, including FIBRANxps MAESTRO, ETICS GF, ETICS BT, FABRIC, GP, PI, and INCLINE.
FIBRANxps INCLINE consists of tapered boards designed to create falls within roof insulation assemblies, while the ETICS variants incorporate surface configurations intended to improve adhesion within external thermal insulation and finishing systems.

Technical Characteristics
The closed-cell structure of extruded polystyrene provides thermal insulation while limiting water absorption. Depending on the product variant, the range offers thermal conductivity values of approximately 0.032–0.040 W/mK and compressive strengths ranging from 300 to 700 kPa at 10% deformation.
The boards are available in different thicknesses and dimensions depending on the specific product configuration. Technical performance, dimensions, edge profiles, and surface finishes vary across the FIBRANxps range and should be selected according to the requirements of the individual building assembly.
Standards and Environmental Information
FIBRANxps products are manufactured according to EN 13164, the European standard for factory-made extruded polystyrene thermal insulation products. The manufacturer also provides technical and environmental documentation for the range, including Environmental Product Declaration documentation for selected products.
According to FIBRAN, the XPS range is manufactured without CFCs and HFCs, using blowing-agent technology with zero ozone-depletion potential and reduced global-warming potential.
