Completed in 2016, the seven-storey Sainsbury Wellcome Centre was designed to bring together scientists studying how brain circuits process information in a collaborative research environment. Developed in close partnership with leading neuroscientists, the £90 million facility houses state-of-the-art laboratories and advanced scientific equipment across approximately 14,000 square metres. Designed by Ian Ritchie Architects, the award-winning building prioritizes energy efficiency, spatial quality, and occupant well-being, earning a BREEAM "Excellent" certification for its sustainable design.

LINIT® EcoGlass 'solar' forms the building's rhythmically curved translucent façade, giving the research centre its distinctive architectural identity. The profiled glass system creates a high-performance building envelope that delivers excellent thermal performance while allowing diffuse natural light to fill the interior spaces, reducing the need for artificial lighting. At dusk, the translucent façade emits a soft white glow that enhances the surrounding streetscape. Available in custom glass thicknesses, web widths, and flange heights, the system combines design flexibility with the durability and structural performance required for demanding institutional projects.
