Longuette Pendant Lamps in Atelier Moessmer | OLEV

OLEV is an Italian designer lighting brand specializing in LED lamps that combine artisanal craftsmanship with intelligent lighting technology. Longuette pendant lamps from OLEV were selected to illuminate Atelier Moessmer Norbert Niederkofler, a three-Michelin-star restaurant located in Brunico, in the South Tyrol region of northern Italy.

Housed in the historic Villa Moessmer—the former manor of the Moessmer textile mill, which was founded in Brunico in 1894 and became one of the largest fabric producers in the world—the restaurant occupies a 19th-century villa set within a 6,000-square-meter park near the town center. The space is organized across several distinct areas: an aperitif lounge, a main dining room, and a chef's table enclosed in a glazed extension overlooking the kitchen. Helmed by chef Norbert Niederkofler, the restaurant holds three Michelin stars as well as the Michelin Green Star for sustainable gastronomy (a distinction shared by only around 35 restaurants worldwide) and is built around Niederkofler's "Cook the Mountain" philosophy, which emphasizes hyper-local, seasonal produce sourced from the surrounding Alpine landscape. The lighting design was carried out in partnership with Lichtstudio Eisenkeil.

The Longuette pendant lamps were chosen for their ability to function simultaneously as decorative objects and as precision dining lights. Available in gold-tone and bronze finishes, the aluminum suspension lamps emit a focused downward beam suited to table illumination, producing a warm, glare-free atmosphere conducive to the dining experience. In a space where natural light plays a significant role during the day, the bronze finish of the Longuette lamps integrates with the warm tones of the interior, ensuring visual coherence across both day and evening conditions. As Niederkofler noted of the result, the lighting performs equally well whether the rooms are filled with natural light or lit entirely by the lamps themselves.
