Characteristics
Bespoke retail fit-out including full-height shelving totems in brushed stainless steel (fixed and rotating versions), shelving units with integrated flat screen profiles, scales niches and self-closing swing doors, stainless steel pastry workshop surfaces and grid structures, and a suspended circular lighting element approximately 10 meters in diameter composed of folded steel sheet outer ring and inner grid structure; industrial material palette throughout
Since 1877, barth has created bespoke interior solutions for jewelers, boutiques, museums, company headquarters, private residences, and hospitality spaces around the world. Custom-made interior components from barth were used in the Loacker Galaxy flagship store in Heinfels, Austria, designed by MoDus Architects as part of a broader refurbishment of the facility.
The Loacker Galaxy flagship store in Heinfels, in the East Tyrol region of Austria, is the retail centerpiece of the Loacker production site—a destination where visitors can experience the brand's products and witness their making firsthand. The refurbishment was designed by Bressanone-based MoDus Architects with a brief to create a clear architectural order capable of supporting both retail presentation and visible production processes. The design language is restrained and industrial, built around a material palette of brushed stainless steel that responds to the functional demands of a food-related retail environment while establishing a strong and coherent spatial identity.

barth was responsible for the complete fit-out of both the sales area and the pastry workshop. The sales area is structured around a series of full-height shelving elements conceived as sculptural totems—solid metal constructions combining shelves and vertical dividers in brushed stainless steel, developed in both fixed and rotating versions. The rotating totems incorporate an invisible mechanism that allows movement without disrupting the overall visual clarity or monolithic presence of the units. Selected shelving units integrate discreet stainless steel support profiles for flat screens alongside functional niches for scales and self-closing swing doors, all executed in the same brushed stainless steel to emphasize durability, hygiene, and precision.
The pastry workshop is seamlessly integrated into the spatial concept, its stainless steel surfaces and internal grid structures keeping production processes visible and accessible while preserving architectural order. A defining feature of the interior is the large suspended circular lighting element with a diameter of approximately ten meters—composed of an outer ring in folded steel sheet and an inner ring formed by a grid structure—which floats above the space, providing even illumination while acting as a unifying spatial gesture that anchors the entire interior composition.
