Impact Acoustic is a Swiss manufacturer of acoustic solutions and materials engineered for performance and circular design. They present Palladio and Trace, two volumetric acoustic wall coverings fabricated from ARCHISONIC® Felt using Swiss 3D printing technology. While Palladio draws inspiration from the harmony and symmetry of Palladian architecture with bold sculpted fluting, Trace offers a more restrained architectural expression through fine vertical articulations. Both systems transform flat wall surfaces into three-dimensional acoustic features while delivering high-performance sound absorption.
Form and Construction
Both wall coverings are fabricated from 12 mm ARCHISONIC® Felt using a precision folding technique that creates integrated three-dimensional air chambers to enhance acoustic performance without requiring heavy construction. The concealed cavities formed within the folded geometry improve sound absorption while giving each system a distinctive architectural character.
Palladio features a pronounced fluted profile with an overall depth of 55 mm and panel dimensions of 762 × 2800 mm, making it well suited to floor-to-ceiling applications in lobbies, corridors, meeting rooms and other large interior spaces. The sculptural geometry creates a rhythmic surface while achieving an NRC of 0.75, substantially outperforming flat-panel alternatives of equivalent material thickness.
Trace provides a quieter architectural language through fine vertical articulations that create subtle shadow lines and visual rhythm without overwhelming adjacent interior elements. Available in 12 mm and 24 mm overall thicknesses, with panel sizes of 1200 × 2400 mm, 1200 × 2800 mm, and 1800 × 2400 mm, the system uses a glueless assembly that simplifies installation while maintaining a refined appearance.
Material and Color
Both systems are fabricated from ARCHISONIC® Felt, a 100% PET material with a minimum 60% post-consumer recycled content, equivalent to 53 recycled plastic bottles per square meter. The material carries GREENGUARD Gold certification, Cradle to Cradle Certified™ status and qualifies for LEED v4 VOC emission credits. Palladio and Trace are available across the full 45-color ARCHISONIC® Felt palette as well as the 33-finish ARCHISONIC® Riftcut range, offering printed wood-veneer aesthetics developed in collaboration with Schotten & Hansen and designer Ina Rinderknecht. As with all ARCHISONIC® Felt products, slight color and surface variations are an inherent characteristic of the recycled fibre content, and physical samples are recommended for colour verification.
