ALVIC supplied decorative panels and furniture components for the comprehensive refurbishment of a 1948 apartment designed by architect Héctor Ruiz Velázquez in Madrid. The project reinterprets the original dwelling by combining historical character with contemporary spatial strategies, allowing traditional architectural elements to coexist with modern materials and finishes.

The intervention reorganizes the existing layout to create an open and continuous living environment that improves natural light and spatial connectivity. The redesigned apartment includes a kitchen, living room, hall, four bedrooms, and two bathrooms, all conceived as part of a cohesive spatial sequence. Rather than separating spaces through rigid boundaries, the project promotes fluid circulation and visual continuity, supporting everyday use while enhancing the perception of openness within the home.

The selected material palette reinforces the balance between warmth and neutrality. Syncron Woodline 02 introduces the visual and tactile qualities of wood through a textured surface, while Zenit Arena, with its supermatt finish, provides a restrained backdrop that supports material contrast and visual clarity. Together, these finishes contribute to a consistent interior language that responds to both functional and aesthetic requirements.

The result is a residential interior that integrates contemporary living standards with respect for the building’s original character, demonstrating how material selection and spatial organization can support adaptable and durable design solutions.
