Stone Effect Cladding at Hotel Fedora | Casalgrande Padana

Casalgrande Padana produces advanced ceramic materials, developing innovative, ecological solutions that can meet diverse creative and technological requirements. The project for Hotel Fedora in Campitello di Fassa, designed by the architect Fabio Mariani, uses Amazzonia Dragon Black porcelain stoneware as part of the renovation's concept. The material was used to clad interior and interior areas of the hotel, creating seamless transitions that echoe the surrounding context.

Located in Trento, Italy, the project draws inspiration from the surrounding alpine landscape, characterised by the forests and rock edges. The construction uses two low-environmental-impact materials, wood and porcelain stoneware; which acts as an optimal alternative to stone for its ecological and technical features. The Amazzonia Dragon Black porcelain stoneware provided a high degree of flexibility with an anti-slip surface, that enabled seamless transitions accross more than 1,500 square metres.

The architecture of the interiors was shaped through the color and material contrast between the stone effect tiles in various formats used for the floors and walls, and the room dividers and wood panelling created using wooden boards. The combination seeks to evoke the conifer forests that stand out against the stone mountine sides backdrop.
