EHRET is a manufacturer of high-quality aluminum shutter systems that blend functional performance with architectural sensitivity.
Custom EHRET aluminum window shutters (Paris model with slanted slats in RAL 6019) were installed at the Saint-Maur Retirement Home, a historic care facility in the Valbourdin district of Toulon, France.
The shutters were meticulously engineered to match the original wooden shutters — including curved arched shapes and traditional proportions — while providing improved ventilation, light modulation, and ease of use for residents.

The Saint-Maur Retirement Home is located in the heart of Toulon’s Valbourdin neighbourhood and occupies a U-shaped building with around 9 500 m² of living space and more than 200 windows and French doors. Originally established in 1854 as a boarding school, the building has evolved over time and is now a historic retirement home listed as a protected monument. The renovation of the shutters had to meet strict heritage conservation requirements while enhancing summer comfort and usability for older residents.

Each aluminum shutter was custom-manufactured to match the exact geometry and traditional aesthetic of the original wooden shutters — including curved arches, slanted louver profiles, and precise hinging details. The Paris model with slanted slats in RAL 6019 was chosen, with millimetre-precise infill and curved slats tailored for each window type. Special ergonomic handles and twist locks were integrated to facilitate ventilation control and ease of use for residents, supporting comfortable indoor conditions throughout the seasons.
