Andreu World is a furniture designer and manufacturer championing good design, high-quality production, and sustainability. A new headquarters and flagship showroom were developed for the company as part of a large-scale renovation and expansion project in Valencia, Spain.
The new headquarters is located in Olimar, on the outskirts of Valencia, and expands Andreu World’s exhibition facilities to a total of 8,000 m², making it the company’s largest showroom worldwide.
Designed by ERRE Arquitectura, the project reconfigures and extends an existing industrial building into a contemporary architectural complex conceived as a single, coherent volume. The intervention prioritizes spatial continuity and adaptability, allowing the building to evolve alongside the brand’s operational and exhibition needs.
From a construction standpoint, the project is based on a prefabricated structural system that enables large spans without intermediate supports, ensuring flexible interior layouts and unobstructed exhibition areas.
Passive energy-saving strategies and industrialized construction methods were incorporated to reduce the building’s carbon footprint, contributing to its BREEAM certification for sustainable construction. The envelope combines honest, durable materials, such as micro-perforated metal screens and solid masonry volumes, that filter natural light and create a dynamic relationship between interior and exterior throughout the day.
The new offices and showroom are organized as interconnected spaces linked by communication hubs, supporting continuous circulation. Curtain walls and a micro-perforated metal skin filter daylight and generate changing light and shadow conditions across the interiors, while the project’s Mediterranean approach emphasizes openness to the outdoors.
Natural light and ventilation reach multiple levels, including the lower level, which is illuminated through English courtyards that bring daylight into the basement.
Interior design by Francesc Rifé Studio is conceived as a neutral and flexible canvas inspired by the idea of a stretched fabric over a wooden frame. Wood functions as a structural and organizational system, defining circulation routes, exhibition planes, and spatial sequences.
A suspended metal ceiling system integrates lighting and technical services while supporting lightweight partitions, allowing the furniture to remain the focal point of the space. Different flooring materials, stone, wood, and continuous surfaces, are used flush with one another to organize the showroom while maintaining visual continuity.
The landscape project by GM Paisajistas extends across 3,000 m² and is conceived as an extension of the interior experience, supporting the display and use of outdoor furniture in real conditions. More than 50 Mediterranean plant species structure a sequence of outdoor rooms, including gardens, courtyards, pergola areas, and an amphitheater used for corporate and social events.
The planting strategy prioritizes biodiversity and reduces maintenance requirements, reinforcing the project’s sustainable approach across exterior spaces.
Andreu World’s furniture is integrated throughout the headquarters as exhibition content and part of the daily working environment. Seating, tables, and lounge elements are arranged across workspaces, meeting rooms, collaborative areas, and outdoor zones, allowing visitors to experience the products in real-life settings rather than isolated displays.
This strategy reinforces the relationship between architecture, interior design, and furniture, positioning the showroom as an immersive environment where design decisions are communicated through use and spatial context.
The furniture used throughout the headquarters reflects Andreu World’s design approach centered on material quality, durability, and circular production. Seating and table systems support a range of work modes, from focused individual tasks to informal collaboration and larger gatherings, while remaining consistent with the interior’s warm, museum-like sequencing.
Within the showroom, products are presented at a domestic scale, with attention to proportions, finishes, and material expression, reinforcing the building's dual role as both a working environment and a living catalog where furniture is tested, exhibited, and experienced through everyday use.
