Bamboo Finishes at the Theater aan de Parade | MOSO® Bamboo

MOSO^® Bamboo develops bamboo-based materials for architectural applications, offering renewable solutions suitable for interior and exterior use in high-performance building environments.

MOSO^® Bamboo supplied a range of finishes and products for Theater aan de Parade in Den Bosch, the Netherlands, following a three-year renovation led by NOAHH Architecten. The project reconfigured the theatre into a contemporary cultural venue, combining a main hall with a capacity of over 900 seats and a series of public and ancillary spaces designed for frequent, high-intensity use.

MOSO^® Bamboo Supreme Flooring was specified for podiums, floors, and staircases throughout the theatre, covering more than 3,200 m². The material was selected for its mechanical performance and suitability for areas exposed to continuous foot traffic. Its natural appearance complements the interior palette, including the champagne-coloured seating, while providing a consistent surface across circulation and performance-related spaces.

The material strategy continues vertically with approximately 500 m² of MOSO^® Bamboo Veneer panels applied to interior walls. The perforated panels contribute to the acoustic performance of the auditorium and feature a pattern inspired by the chestnut trees surrounding the Parade Square. On the rooftop terrace, MOSO^® Bamboo X-treme^® Decking was used across 200 m², providing a durable outdoor surface that meets Fire Class B requirements without the use of additional fire-retardant treatments.

The project demonstrates how bamboo materials can be applied across floors, walls, and exterior spaces within a single building, supporting both functional and regulatory requirements while maintaining material consistency throughout the architectural design.
