Rainforest Wild Asia is located within Mandai, Singapore; it is is an immersive rainforest environment featuring elevated canopy walks, shaded rest areas, and meandering outdoor pathways. The design integrates architectural elements discreetly into the landscape, guiding visitors through a conservation-focused experience while maintaining a natural material palette and earth-toned finishes.
Across exterior circulation routes, Jonite trench grates were specified to align with patterned concrete and aggregate surfaces. The stone-like texture supports visual continuity with the terrain while providing efficient surface water management for high-traffic zones and transitional areas leading to dining and rest spaces.
Custom configurations were used to follow the organic geometry of the site and to maintain a consistent visual rhythm along paths and edges. Sump covers were coordinated with adjacent grating to ensure a unified appearance and to meet performance requirements for durability, slip resistance, and maintenance access. The system contributes to the project’s aim of integrating infrastructure within a rainforest setting without drawing visual attention.
