Abstract:

Prototypical Bio-Architecture proposes an experimental ecological hub that reconnects fragmented urban green corridors into a shared civic ecosystem. The project does not function as a conventional building, instead, it operates as a living and adaptive infrastructure where architecture, vegetation, and people evolve together over time.

The spatial system is organized through three architectural layers (No.1A–No.3A), each integrated with a corresponding vegetation type (No.1Z–No.3Z). Natural growth is a key design driver, shaping spatial hierarchy, light conditions, and movement patterns. Dense tree canopies form vertical clearings, modular structures host workshops and learning spaces, and lightweight connective elements support circulation, gathering, and public interaction.

A central sustainability principle is the reversible and dismantlable construction system. Components are conceived as prototypical modules that can be assembled, disassembled, and relocated without losing functional or ecological value. This adaptability allows deployment across diverse urban contexts, from vacant plots and blind facades to postindustrial sites and existing green corridors.

By activating overlooked urban surfaces, the project creates platforms for citizens, students, and researchers. These spaces support learning and collaborative environmental knowledge production. Architecture is redefined as an evolving framework that emphasizes social connections and ecological regeneration.
