The third edition of this traveling festival, organized by the Sarañani! School of Conservation of Fundación Altiplano, is underway. Designed for those passionate about conservation, sustainable construction, traditional crafts, and responsible living, as well as coastal cuisine and beach landscapes, the event takes place in the wonderful port of Callao—a heritage treasure of the Americas—in collaboration with the Patronato de la Cocina del Callao, the Dirección Desconcentrada de Cultura del Callao, and the Centro Tierra of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú.

The 7th edition of the Semana Criativa de Tiradentes arrives with plenty of new features. The festival, which celebrates the intersection of art and culture while honoring handmade design, will take place from October 19 to 22 in the city of Tiradentes.

The new edition of Bancos Indígenas do Brasil presents valuable photographic documentation of the BEI Collection of Indigenous Benches, accompanied by texts that explore the subject through various cultural, practical, and aesthetic lenses. The book also features a map locating the ethnic groups represented in the collection, as well as a stunning photo essay by Rafael Costa captured in the Xingu region.

On November 16, the University of Santiago de Chile (USACH) will award an honorary doctorate to architect and 2019 National Architecture Prize recipient Miguel Lawner Steiman, in recognition of his distinguished career and commitment to social housing.

The current urban lifestyle, centered on vehicles and mass production, has serious consequences for people and the environment. In Brazil, more than 80% of the population lives in urban environments (Embrapa, 2017), and walking is the primary mode of transportation in cities, accounting for 39% of daily trips (2018, ANTP). If we consider that public transport trips begin and end on foot, walking is involved in approximately 67% of daily trips (2018, ANTP).

Construction of a Labyrinth is the latest proposal from the artistic team of Elena Morón and Jesús Marina. It features latent virtual images that will gradually emerge, physical photographs that truly exist, a play on codes and texts, and real voids and perforations created by the artists.

In light of the highly contentious revision process of Porto Alegre’s Master Plan, the sixth edition of this micro-walking festival will focus on "the effects of a Master Plan on daily life." We believe it is urgent to bring the public closer to this crucial debate, opening up different fronts of resistance—both in legal and administrative spheres and in the social field—to renegotiate a desirable city, far beyond the neoliberal, consumption-oriented, and individualistic model that sectors of the public administration and the private sector seek to impose upon us.
To mark the 10th anniversary of the Young Architects Program associated with MoMA in New York, Constructo is hosting the International Young Architects Festival (YAF_CONSTRUCTO) in Chile for the second consecutive year, featuring prominent emerging voices in international architecture and design, as well as distinguished curators.
"How to Design a Revolution: The Chilean Way to Design" is part of the commemorative activities marking 50 years since the civil-military coup d'état in Chile. The exhibition focuses on the graphic and industrial design produced during the government of President Salvador Allende (1970–1973). It is co-produced by the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (UC), the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and the Centro Cultural La Moneda (CCLM), with the collaboration of the Ministry of Science, Technology, Knowledge, and Innovation and the Goethe-Institut Chile. The exhibition will remain on view until January 28, 2024.
This workshop focuses on a design exercise regarding urban housing for diverse social sectors and is intended for architects and advanced architecture students. It is organized by the ANID Exploratory Project "Vivienda Sensible" and the Latin American Master of Architecture program at the University of Bío-Bío.

The launch of the first industrial printer for additive construction in Latin America will take place on Thursday, December 14, at the Universidad del Bío-Bío's Concepción campus. This printer will enable the construction of entire houses in Latin America for the first time. It represents a significant advancement in additive construction developed by the UBB's Center for Research in Construction Technologies (CITEC), which has already produced various pieces of furniture and residential walls using an industrial robot in collaboration with several industry partners.
