El tabique-adobillo es una técnica constructiva mixta de madera y tierra, una de las más utilizadas en la construcción de inmuebles en Valparaíso desde el siglo XIX al XX, que se proyecta como una alternativa completamente viable para nuestros días. Hoy en Chile, con manejo forestal y con acceso a suelos para la fabricación de los adobillos, resulta ser una buena respuesta constructiva, de origen natural, térmica, de bajo impacto ambiental, que ya ha demostrado un buen comportamiento ante sismos gracias a la flexibilidad de sus estructuras de madera.

15th Bioarchitecture Congress: A Natural Approach

The theme for this year's 15th Architecture Congress is Bioarchitecture: "A Natural Approach." This event is organized by students from the Faculty of Architecture who aim to promote knowledge of the architecture being produced both locally and globally.
Bioarchitecture focuses on creating healthy spaces using materials that do not harm the environment and can be integrated into the natural context. This approach requires a balance between construction, the natural environment, and society, while fostering an awareness that architecture must be grounded in natural principles.

LIGA 35: Infraestudio

For the first time, LIGA presents the work of a Cuban architecture firm: Infraestudio. The studio, led by Anadis González and Fernando Martirena, addresses various conflicts and challenges in its daily practice, including job insecurity in a context where private architecture is illegal. Despite this obstacle, they have managed to develop a provocative body of built work that they intertwine with proposals linked to artistic practices.

FOG. Solo exhibition by Erik López

NIEBLA is the first solo exhibition by Erik López. Drawing from the concept of "brain fog"—a neurological phenomenon characterized by memory loss, difficulty finding words, and feeling overwhelmed by simple daily tasks—NIEBLA presents a selection of works produced between 2020 and 2021 by photographer, museographer, and digital artist Erik López. The exhibition traces a brief journey from the material to the intangible, experimenting with architecture, digital art, NFTs, photography, and video.

Ana Holck at Paço Imperial

On December 2, Paço Imperial will open the exhibition "Entroncados, Enroscados e Estirados," featuring new works by Rio de Janeiro-based artist Ana Holck. The exhibition marks a new phase in her distinguished 22-year career. Curated by Felipe Scovino, the show presents eight works from the three series that give the exhibition its name. Produced this year using porcelain and stainless steel—materials the artist had not previously utilized—the works bridge the concepts of painting and sculpture.

Barragán Palimpsest

‘Palimpsest Barragán’ offers a unique opportunity to engage closely with a 20th-century modernist architectural masterpiece by Luis Barragán. As a hidden and yet-to-be-recognized gem located in the middle of a paradisiacal jungle on the Pacific coast, the ruins of the unfinished building have faded into obscurity, much like pre-Hispanic pyramids in Mexico. It is currently in a state of progressive decay. The workshop will not only ‘unearth’ the project and finally place it on the map of architectural discourse, but it may also have a greater impact by initiating a debate surrounding the preservation of the disintegrating ruin.

Call for Entries: Caravan Routes Workshop

“Ruta Caravanera” is an interdisciplinary workshop based on the itinerant methodology of Swiss curator and historian Philip Ursprung and the territorial research trips led by Tarapacá-based curator Rodolfo Andaur in Tarapacá and other regions of the Americas. The workshop’s objectives revisit the ancestral practices of the first Andean nations as alternative frameworks for reading and understanding geography.
