Light is one of the most important factors when designing homes, and the use of natural light is vital in creating a space that feels both comfortable, inviting and practical. It could be said that lighting is a form of language that architects can use to communicate emotions in the spaces and structures they design.

The firm Estúdio Módulo will host a public presentation of the winning project for the International Competition for the Rio-Africa Cultural Center.

Introducing the Kinderspace: Architecture for Children's Development competition / Edition #2, an architectural challenge dedicated to crafting innovative educational spaces that enhance early childhood learning. As young children navigate their formative years, the environment in which they learn plays a pivotal role in their cognitive, emotional, and social development. Traditional educational settings often do not fully cater to the dynamism of early childhood, potentially stifling creativity and exploration.

Introducing the Architect's Chair Competition, an exciting opportunity for architects and designers to showcase their versatility and creativity by designing a signature piece of furniture. Inspired by the long-standing tradition of iconic architects creating custom furniture as an extension of their architectural work, this competition challenges participants to distill their design approach into its core components and represent their unique style in a single piece of furniture – the architect's chair.

Buildner has announced the results of its competition, the Last Nuclear Bomb Memorial No. 4. This competition is held each year to support the universal ban on nuclear weapons. In 2017, on the 75th anniversary of the 1945 bombings of Nagasaki and Hiroshima, which claimed the lives of over 100,000 people, the United Nations adopted the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons.

In recognition of this treaty, Buildner invites conceptual designs for a memorial to be located on any known decommissioned nuclear weapon testing site. The conceptual memorial is intended to reflect the history and ongoing threat of nuclear weapons, aiming to promote public awareness of nuclear disarmament.

IIA Southern Regional Conference aims to address complexities in design for eco-sensitive regions

Inside the iconic architecture of Eugenio Fuselli, the Casa del Mutilato in Genoa hosts the exhibition "Prove di Fede. Antonio Giuseppe Santagata" – a meeting with the religious artworks of the great Italian artist, known for his depictions of war, in dialogue with the historic rooms of the building.

The term landscape is a polysemic term with multifaceted meanings across various disciplines. Geographer James Duncan describes it as both the appearance of an area and the assemblage of objects that create that appearance, while architect Patrick Nuttgens considers landscape as both a physical setting and an intellectual construct that defines human existence over time. Edward Relph adds to this understanding by viewing it as a mixture of natural and cultural, fabric and system; and change; shaped by historical, social, and ecological processes.

Launched in 2017 at the Technical University of Madrid (UPM), this Master's program enters its seventh edition in 2025. As in previous years, it will be held at the Madrid School of Architecture (ETSAM) from February through December.

The Master of Advanced Studies in Collective Housing (MCH) is a full-time international postgraduate program in architecture and design for cities and housing, presented by UPM and ETH Zurich. After 16 editions, it is considered one of the best architecture master's programs in the world.
