Every year, the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat - CTBUH ranks the world's tallest buildings, ranging from completed projects to under construction, and proposed. Regardless of the numerous solutions that skyscrapers present in response to urban challenges, several government officials from around the world have begun implementing regulations against their construction, stating that they are causing physical and mental damages to pedestrians, animals, and the environment. The New York Times has announced that residents of NYC's 432 Park Avenue are suing the project developers for $125 million in damages citing “multiple floods, faulty elevators, “intolerable” noise caused by building sway, and an electrical explosion in June — the second in three years — that knocked out power to residents”. But while similar stories have been shared from London and China, skyscrapers continue to rise.
