This Archtober, join over one hundred architects and design professionals in making an impact in their local communities through AFHny’s annual city-wide service day.
Participants will work alongside some of the region’s leading community-focused organizations through hands-on painting, planting, and rebuilding projects, all of which will improve New York's neighborhoods on both physical and social levels.
This year's sites are furnished by previous Day of Impact partners such as Rebuilding Together NYC, Publicolor, and New York Cares, as well as by newcomers Partnership for Parks, CITYarts, the LES Ecology Center, the Walt L Shamel Community Garden, and the New York Restoration Project. Participants are welcome to sign up as individuals or in teams, as is the case for volunteers from VOA Associates, Spacesmith, Steelcase, TPG Architecture, and Rockwell Group. The contributions of these firms have been generously reinforced with support from Assa Abloy, CSI Metro NY, and Carvart.
