Apply to Have Your Urban Intervention Realized in Abrantes, Portugal

180 Creative Camp is back! The 5th edition of the event will take place from July 5-12 in the Portuguese city of Abrantes. One of the leading creative gatherings worldwide, 180 Creative Camp unites some of the world's most inspiring creators from different areas of artistic expression for a week of creative intersections. Developed by Canal180, the camp combines video, music, photography, design, architecture and urban art. For a second consecutive year, and in partnership with the Municipality of Abrantes, 180 Creative Camp is seeking proposals for an Urban Intervention Project to be displayed in Abrantes' historic center, as well as 15 “Stores Art Attack" project interventions. Proposals need to be submitted by May 31. Learn more after the break.

180 Creative Camp will select one proposal for an artistic intervention in the historical center of Abrantes. The purpose of the open call is to encourage the appropriation of the city’s public spaces by locals and visitors, and an award of 5.000€ will be given for the project’s implementation. ArchDaily, along with the Lisbon Architecture Triennale, German collective Plastique Fantastique, Canal180 and the Municipality of Abrantes will make up the jury for this open call.

180 Creative Camp is also looking for 15 “Stores Art Attack Projects,” an initiative that was born in the 2014 edition of the event. This contest intends to find 15 international proposals for creative interventions to be implemented in traditional stores in the historical center of Abrantes, with the aim of reviving traditional businesses. The authors of the selected proposals will have free access to all of 180 Creative Camp’s activities and will also be offered accommodation and meals during the event. Additionally, each selected proposal will be awarded 200€ for its implementation. Watch the video above to learn more about the Stores Art Attack Projects from last year.

180 Creative Camp will soon reveal the artists that will attend the 2015 edition, as well as new partnerships with international media platforms, which will take part in interventions, exhibitions and presentations during the event. In addition to workshops and several other activities related to the aforementioned creative fields, the event also hosts a different live music show every night of the creative week.

It’s the third time that the city of Abrantes, located in central Portugal, will open its streets and squares to 180 Creative Camp. In previous years celebrated artists around the world, like French duo Ella&Pitr, Galician sculptor Isaac Cordal, Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman and multidisciplinary artist Olaf Breuning have participated in the event. 180 Creative Camp is produced by Canal180, a Portuguese TV channel focused on art and culture.

Artists interested in participating in the open calls for Urban Intervention Projects and Stores Art Attack Projects should fill out the form available at www.180.camp by May 31st.
