At an exhibit in Gothenburg, architects Fredrik Kjellgren + Joakim Kaminsky from Kjellgren Kaminsky Architecture have designed a sustainable city as a ”glimpse of a possible sustainable future” for Sweden.  The project, entitled Super Sustainable City, takes the analytical findings of a previous green initiaive,”Gothenburg 2050″ and presents a new “architectonic vision.” More about the exhibit after the break. The vision sees the Gothenburg River as the center of the new city.  By focusing the urbanscape around the river, there will be shorter transportation times and the surrounding areas will be used to grow food and provide space for locally processed energy sources.  To connect the city, the proposal utilizes “links” that actively join the community.  A link can be a city street that will be redesigned to be filled with “happenings”.  People can live on this link which will become a mega-structure over the river to “create a life of itself.” View more View full description
