Text description provided by the architects. It is a project of cosmetic surgery where clients mostly reach after their beauties.  I would like to illustrate as 'A house for nature and people' rather than a cosmetic surgery for beauty. It has been a main idea of the space from the first sight and till the completion.  A scene of blue sea, sky and mountain, hardly seen in the center of the big city, was found over the window when I first met this site. This beautiful view became the main concept of the space and gave a beauty.  I started this project giving a bold suggestion of the space to make the most of its own benefit. 87m2 out of 400m2 space is planned for a reception area.

More than many other spaces, this waiting room is the highest priority for the patients who can belong together with nature and culture.

In MISOAN, you do not find a reception desk from the entrance when you get off lift. For the visitors and patients, the reception is pulled a little bit to the back as a consideration of over-welcoming. Instead, all the natural elements lead you to feel at home walking along the nature stonewall. Turning right to the bright side from the cozy entrance hall, a view of blue ocean welcomes visitors such as a valued stone holds up the light from the darkness and suddenly brightening up.

Floor Plan

In the waiting room, people enjoy a cup of coffee as being in a café instead of feeling discomfort to face to the others. People face to the beautiful scenery here.

A big wooden house in the hall is another waiting room where also be able to transform to a multi space for all kinds of special purpose, such as seminar, conference or music concert. Except few special rooms, all the rooms are planned to have a view with windows as many as possible and also hall way is planned to have as much light as possible through windows. While the right side of the space is for the visitors with ocean view, the left side of space is for the practical parts such as operation, treatment and recovery for the cosmetic surgery. It gives a comfort of being at hotel when you find a view of Yongdoo mountain park and Yongdusan Tower  in the room of recovery and operation.

The space itself can be very powerful. This project is a story of creating a new vision of the interior, in the space given, not only a seeking for a beauty.
