Text description provided by the architects. The project consists on a family house in a residential area in the region of Pamplona, Navarra. The adjacent houses, constructed on divers materials and different design lines, motivated an initial approach based on the abstraction, with an outright definition of the volumes made in sandstone.

Two volumes with tilted roof compounds the indoor program of this traditional family house. The ground floor element holds the main day-areas, a unified space merges the living-room, dining-room and kitchen with direct access to the porch and the garden. There is also an study and playing-room with views over the adjacent public garden. Towards the main facade, a stripe containing the service area, laundry and garage ensures the privacy of the house. The volume of the first floor holds the night-area, with three bedrooms facing the garden (south-west) leaving the dressing-room and bathrooms towards the main facade. Finally the basement contains a multi-purpose space and the facilities room.

The plot is the last of the row and borders with a public park on its north side, conferring to the side facade the same importance as the main one. The fact that it faces the north, suggested to avoid opening big holes, ending up with an almost blind wall with small  gaps. Contrary to the front side, the back facade facing South-West has large Windows and a porch, which allows views to the private garden and the pool.

In order to enhance the sculptural appearance of the volumes the use of materials was very narrow; sandstone for the outside carved with a traditional rig and wooden floors on the inside with white walls through all the house excepting dark Stone for the bathrooms.

The garden is divided in two areas, clearly defined. The front part with no fence opened to the public street, constructed with boulders using some ideas of xeriscaping and the back part, more private and with a swimming-pool landscaped with local plants.
